Synopsis:
RUPERT GOOLD'S PRODUCTION OF LUCY PREBBLE?S ACCLAIMED PLAY
EXTENDS ITS RECORD-BREAKING WEST END RUN BY 14 WEEKS
The record-breaking, award-winning, world-premiere production of Lucy Prebble's celebrated new play ENRON today announces an extension to its run at the Noel Coward Theatre. Previously scheduled to close on 8 May, the production will continue to run after this date, with a new cast, until 14 August 2010 (the ninth anniversary of the whistle-blowing letter that precipitated Enron's collapse).
Inspired by real-life events and using music, dance and video, ENRON explores one of the most infamous scandals in financial history, reviewing the tumultuous 1990s and casting a new light on the financial turmoil in which the world currently finds itself. The cast (until 8 May) includes Samuel West as Enron's CEO Jeffrey Skilling, with Amanda Drew, Tom Goodman-Hill and Tim Pigott-Smith.
Since it opened in the West End in January 2010, ENRON has broken box office and attendance records at the Noel Coward Theatre.
ENRON opens on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre on 27 April 2010, and a 10-week tour opens at Chichester Festival Theatre on 10 September 2010.
ENRON won Rupert Goold an Evening Standard Award and a Critics Circle Award for Best Director and the production has received six Olivier Award nominations.
